For Authors

The Intercultural Human Rights Law Review is currently accepting submissions of articles, essays, book reviews, and responses to articles to be considered for publication in Vol. 21 (2025-2026).

The Intercultural Human Rights Law Review is committed to exploring new directions and perspectives in the struggle for human rights, justice, and equality. Our goal is to publish well-written, innovative human rights scholarship which helps promote an order of human dignity through a problem- and policy-oriented approach. We welcome submissions by academics, legal scholars, practitioners, field experts, and students.

The Intercultural Human Rights Law Review publishes annually, producing one issue every Spring. Submissions will be accepted on a rolling basis beginning in August of 2025. Submissions through Scholastica are preferred, but submissions through e-mail are also welcomed.

Submission guidelines:

  • All submissions must be accompanied by a cover letter or resume.
  • The paper should be 20,000 words or less, written in English, and in Microsoft Word format.
  • Text and citations should conform to the Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citations.
  • Footnotes are strongly favored over endnotes.
  • The use of gender-neutral language is highly encouraged.
  • The use of the New Haven School is highly encouraged.
